OCG's New Fiber Adds Redundant Access Route to Telehouse's Teleport Facility
Telehouse America, the leading provider of high-level data center and collocation facilities, international internet exchanges, and business continuity and disaster recovery solutions announces the addition of OCG-Optical Communications Group's new dark fiber entry path to its facility, TELEHOUSE Center, located at The Teleport in Staten Island, NY. The new path is the first addition of two new OCG fiber entry points. At this project's completion there will be three fiber entry points into the facility.
Carriers now can access 7 Teleport Drive via a new totally diverse underground fiber path from fiber routes running through Staten Island. Clients that take advantage of this new path will immediately gain a higher level of network security and functionality. The new route also will give companies the redundancy called for by industry and government compliance regulations.
Additionally, carriers now can supply a second path from Telehouse Center to connect to Manhattan's 25 Broadway, 60 Hudson Street and 111 Eighth Avenue and the trans-Atlantic cable heads in eastern Long Island, New York. Access to other buildings within The Teleport is another benefit.
The new route is part of a plan to improve connectivity at Telehouse Center; enabling the facility to become a communications hub offering access to all areas of the US and abroad.
